This mod will remove the visual override for vampire skin.

Usage: Copy the package into your mod folder like any other mod.

Details: This mod will remove the glowing vampire skin:

  • on all sims that are vampires on startup

  • on sims that become a vampire during gameplay

  • on vampire sims on the lot after build/buy mode adds the glowing skin



Known issues:

  • The vampire skin will be visible for a second or so when the sim is turned into a vampire and after returning to live mode from build/buy.

  • The removal on start up and after build/buy will take a second or so after in game time starts running (i.e. after you unpause the game).

  • The vampire skin will not be removed in CAS, the preview picture in the panel, or the head that is displayed with the interaction pie menu.



Note: This is a scripting mod. It should not conflict with any other mods and can be safely removed by removing the package.

Hiya, thank you so much for making this mod! i had to play the game without advanced rendering (the terrain paints were awful!) in order to inactive the vamp skin. However i've just loaded up my game, and have been playing for a few minutes, and so far all the vampires still have the sickly skin. I've installed it correctly, could it be my game is incompatible (I have AMB, LN, GEN + PETS)? I also use default skins (CC)

I don't think that custom skins should be a problem, but I have to admit I haven't tried. Unrelated expansions also shouldn't matter. Are you running a fully patched game? Does it work when you switch to build/buy mode and then back?

Thanks for replying! :) I've tried the switch to build/buy mode trick and no such luck :( I'm also fully patched. Maybe it's just not meant to be with my game, oh well! Thanks for the suggestions/other mod.
ps i like the vampire eyes, so I'm just going to turn off advanced rendering (eek!)

This is strange. I don't know why it wouldn't work for you. One other option would be to get Twallan's DebugEnabler. Under Sim options menu you should find ways to switch off the Visual Override. It would be tedious to do this every time, but maybe it's an option if you want to take screenshots or so. It would also allow you to see if this works in general or if your configuration somehow prevents this from working.

It still compiles, so there should be no crash. I haven't actually tested it yet, though. Did you try it out?

Is this mod compatible with 1.47? I remember trying it after 1.38 or so and don't remember it workin :( Since the last updated hasn't been changed I'm assuming it hasn't been updated since then. So should it be working? :)

Yes, it seems they changed something about when the vamp overlay is reapplied, but misukisu's version has been updated and seems to work from the comments there.

I tried to send a PM but they're disabled. So I had to fangirl flail at you for making me happy. Yes, just watching the boys smile makes me happy. :D

As soon as I heard about the Future themed EP I had to flail about Atlantis (I'm a frequent flailer). Would you be willing to be my partner in crime in making an Atlantis themed world?

At this point is just an idea, but if you know more simmers into creating stuff and SGA I'd love to step it up into the "a plan" phase. :D

Thanks for generally being awesome and making my... well, not the whole day, but thanks for making my hour. :D

I'm not a world builder or even a normal builder, so I wouldn't be of much use with an Atlantis themed world. I also don't actually play all that much, when I do it's to test mods (which isn't really playing) or to try out new expansion features.

But I'm sure there are builders who are into SGA. I believe there was someone on the official forums who wanted to create an Atlantis world. I'm not sure about the status of the project, but maybe they or others are interested in collaborating.

Oh, and there's at least one CC creator who made Stargate Objects. *looks for link* Here you'll find some decorative objects, including a stargate "lamp".
